About Stitch and Frame

My name is Nancy. My husband Jerry and I opened Stitch and Frame in 1985, and we have been enjoying it ever since! I think one of the things we have most enjoyed is getting to know so many people. Our customers have become so much a part of our lives. We have made such wonderful friends. With many of them, we know their children, their parents, and yes, even their pets. I don’t think there are many types of businesses that give you the opportunity to have people come in to share news about a new grandchild, a new home, or just a visit to relax and unwind.

On the third Wednesday of every month we have a stitch group that meets here (between 6-9PM). Some of them have been coming since we first opened. It is always noisy, friendly, lots of laughs and plenty of stitching going on.

The store is 4,000 square feet and has a large selection of hand painted needlepoint canvases and many, many different fibers, and accessories. We also have the largest selection of cross stitch in the south. We do a great deal of special ordering. If we don’t have something in stock, we will make every effort to get it.

We also have a wonderful framing department , specializing in framing needlework, unusual matting, shadow boxes, prints, and just about anything people can think of. Jerry and Cheryl (more about her later) are both highly talented and professional framers. Cheryl has been with us from the very beginning and we are really, family (when our children were younger, they reported in to whomever answered the phone - you know where are you going , with whom, and exactly what time you need to be home!! ) In fact Cheryl and I worked together for four years prior to the shop opening. We have all been together so long, we finish each other’s sentences.

Needlework is something we have enjoyed for many years and we love to be able to teach someone new just how fun and relaxing it can be.

We thank you for “stopping” by our website, we will continue to add and improve upon it. Come back anytime, as we say in Cajun country, “to pass a good time”!!!
